How to Know When You Are Ready for Your Actuarial Exam

Knowing when you are truly prepared for an actuarial exam is one of the most difficult judgment calls candidates face. Study too little and you risk failing. Study too long and you waste time that could be spent on the next exam.

Research on actuarial exam preparation suggests that candidates are generally ready when they can consistently score above 70% on timed practice exams, have completed at least 80% of the recommended study hours for their exam, and can identify their weak topics and explain the concepts in those areas.
